Rick Springfield - The Early Sound Sessions Review

.
After my embarrassing public dismissal from the Earth Liberation Front's 'burn, explode, crochet' unit (I can't remember why the rejected me from their brainwashing program - I think it was either cuz my brain was clean enough, or because they couldn't find a washcloth small enough or something like that.) I was almost suicidal with shame. But after I found my way home, the package in the mailbox from my editor MORE than fixed everything!!

Can you imagine my glee at finding a CD of the biggest, hugest star of the past 3 decades stuffed into an envelope?? If not, then the next time that happens, c'mon over to my house & watch my reaction!!

OK, enough about me! Time for the CD review!! I think it was called, "Everyone else sucks, only I'm good, forget all those other pop stars of the 80s, only like me!!" by the truly original & outstanding Rick Springfield! After listening to this CD 87 quintillion times, turned up as loud as possible, at all hours of the day and night, I can honestly say that the tinnitus I now suffer is SO worth it!! Not only that, but as a direct result of my sharing this musical bliss with the county I live in, I have attracted bunches of new fans to this misunderstood brilliant genius! I can't remember how many cops & noise violation enforcement agents told me they think the CD is "very nice".

The fact that I wasn't arrested for numerous noise ordinance violations, but only ticketed & fined every single time they popped in to visit proves that all you have to do is listen to this stellarfantaslicious CD to instantly fall in deep love with every single song on this CD.

There are 11 songs on this CD, which means if you listen to one song per day, it will take you 11 whole days to listen to the CD in its entirety! How's that for value?!?! That's almost 2 weeks of music, for the price of 1 CD!!!

There are 3 songs with the word "One" in the title, 2 with the word "Feelings", 2 that refer to body parts, 2 that are named after someone, and 2 that I couldn't categorize. Imagine how cool that'd be if you ever needed to make a 'theme CD' for someone at the office, right here is a bunch of possibilities!

In the CD liner notes, I was touched to the point of tears by the heartwarming story recounted by his former manager about ol' RS. Apparently this manager now suffers the crippling effects of Alzheimer's, as the only thing he could relate about the biggest star
this universe has ever known is what a great dog s*** cleaner RS used to be before he achieved so much fame & fortune! If only someone offered for sale on eBay those piles RS once loving cradled in his hands, SIGH!!

Ok, anyway, the music! How can anyone put into words the spectaculabulousnessitude of the songs on this CD?!? HOW CAN IT BE DONE!?!?! Nevertheless, I will try. These songs are really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really good! As I listened, I couldn't help think of what a keen ear RS has for capturing, boiling down & regurgitating for public consumption absolutely every big star of the 70s & 80s & all their hits!

If you buy this CD, you won't need to buy anything by Billy Joel, or disco people, or any other big famous singers/ bands of that era! RS has songs on here that sound kinda reminiscent of all of 'em! That is talent, my friends! When the sincerest form of flattery is earnestly layered in personal songs written & performed to honor others; where the humble doggie nanny bashfully deflects eyes from himself as he pays vocal tribute to all the other people he admires... I am weeping so hard as I write this, I fear my keyboard might electrocute me!

I think there is also an exceedingly rare treat on here, of little Ricky's very first public performance as a singer, when he was only a performing infant, in an auditorium, singing to his mommy, daddy & all the people they forced to attend.

Well now that Vegas has kicked Celine out the door, I'm sure you'll soon be able to catch RS & his piano lounge act. Then you'll see what I mean!! Till then, buy this CD before they are out of stock!! Help pay for RS's meds & doctor appointments now that he's too young for social security & too old to be a heart throb on tv!
