Nedry Set US Release and UK Tour
London, UK trio Nedry, whose dazzling fusion of electronica, instrumental rock, dub-step rhythms and hauntingly beautiful vocals has generated a wellspring of excitement in the UK media, announces the U.S. release of its debut album Condors. The disc arrives stateside via Monotreme Records (65daysofstatic, Jeniferever, Barzin) on April 20th, 2010.

Nedry is Matt Parker, Chris Amblin and Ayu Okakita. Their beautiful sound and arresting beats are from and for the "post-" generation. Their songs are dark and ambient but broken-up and lifted by moments of glitch and fuzzy, melodic guitars eliciting comparisons to other iconoclast artists like Bjork, Blonde Redhead and Tuung. Both live and on record they use innovative production techniques to create a truly original sound.

Nedry started performing, producing and recording in summer 2008. In a little over a year they've made waves on the UK electronic music scene, sharing stages with the likes of Pivot (Warp), Maps (MUTE), The Gaslamp Killer (Brainfeeder) and Daedelus (Ninja Tune). Nedry have steadily gathered critical acclaim since the self-released SZ EP, and support from the likes of Q Magazine and The Times as well as airplay on a host of radio stations including XFM, Resonance FM, BBC 6Music and BBC Radio 1 has assured them as one of the most exciting bands to emerge in 2009. BBC Radio 1 DJ and new music guru Huw Stephens in particular has championed the Nedry sound, inviting them to the famous Maida Vale studios to record a live session for his show. - more on this story

Felix Cartal Popular Music
"I never liked music until I heard my own." Felix Cartal. That's one hell of statement. To be absolutely clear, Felix Cartal was joking when he said it. But listening to his debut LP, Popular Music (Dim Mak, Feb. 23), it's hard not to wonder if he wasn't just a little bit serious. Packed from start to finish with some truly dirty dance tracks, Popular Music is Felix's definitive statement — a defense of heavy beats, distorted melodies, and epic buildups and breakdowns. And starting in February, Felix will be touring North America as a part of his Popular Music Tour.

The album kicks off with the eponymous opener, "Popular Music," a ravey, hard-house track built around a catchy vocal line, "Break-it down / Smash it up / Back to where you begin / Take it left / Take it right / Come on say it again." It's a perfect introduction to a record filled with heavy-hitting tracks like "Berlin," "Drone," and "Boy and His Computer." The tracks are unmistakably Felix Cartal's, with his characteristic larger-than-life beats and catchy, fuzzed-out melodies. Felix is also joined by a number of special guests on the record. Johnny Whitney of The Blood Brothers and Jaguar Love collaborates Felix on "Volcano," adding his unmistakable vocals over Felix's crunchy melodies. Todd Fink from The Faint lends his talent to "Why Wait," and Austrian newcomers Beta Bow guest on "I Believe In," Felix's four-on-the-floor stomp.

Although a relative newcomer to the dance scene, Felix has already made quite the name for himself. Building a reputation off a stellar batch of early tracks, Felix has become one of the most sought after remixers, cutting tracks for artists like MSTRKRFT, Acid Kids, and Moving Units — not to mention his work with the pop icons like of Ashlee Simpson and Britney Spears. It's no wonder that before he even had an EP under his belt, Felix was scoring opening spots for Justice and Busy P and getting picked up by Undocumented Management (LA Riots, The Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT). His Dim Mak debut, The Skeleton EP, was heralded by the blogs and lauded by the press when it came out in May of '09. Starting on February 11th, Felix will bring his music on the road. - more on this story

Carlo Nuccio Updates Saints Song Who Dat for Super Bowl
The story of the "Who Dat" phenomenon began back in 1983, when a New Orleans Saints were in need of some boosterism. Local New Orleans producer Carlo Nuccio took the unofficial theme of the team, the traditional jazz standard "When The Saints Go Marching In," and added a chant he'd heard fans yelling at games: "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?"

Local pianist David Torkanowsky brought the jazz cred, and Aaron Neville agreed to handle the vocals; a few weeks later, Howard Cosell name-checked the song on Monday Night Football, and the rest is history.

With the Saints now headed for the Super Bowl, Carlo Nuccio has released an updated version, keeping the same arrangement and many of the same performers, and adding local mainstays Theresa Andersson (vocals) and Jon Cleary (piano), Aaron's son Ivan Neville on organ, and Matt Perrine on tuba and bass. Then he spun the second half of the song into a gospel-styled arrangement, renamed it "Glory Bound," and history was made once again. - more on this story

EOTO Tour
From dance halls to intimate theaters worldwide comes EOTO - the nation's top innovator in glitchy electronic, bass thumping, dub-step themed music. With performances booked well into 2010 including dates in Tucson, Albuquerque, San Diego and all along the western seaboard, EOTO is taking the country by storm with their innovative brand of live electronic music.

What EOTO achieves on stage is nothing short of astounding. Performed with all of the bells and whistles of a traditional electronic artist plus the addition of live drums, vocals, bass and guitar, the duo creates each and every bass ridden noise right before your eyes -without the addition of a single pre-recorded track. Known for their 100% live improvised performance, EOTO is breaking ground into a new sub culture of music while standing against some of the nations best live DJ's in the country.

With leagues of sold-out theater performances in 2009, the project started out as an avenue for the duo to blow off steam and generally just have a good time playing around with technology with music. Now, a full time project for the pair with a seemingly endless tour featuring over 600 shows in 4 years and sold out performances in every market in the country. With no signs of stopping, EOTO fine-tunes their approach and skill with each and every show they play, leaving the next performance more unique then the last. - more on this story
