Singled Out: Lana Mir's Summertime
Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Lana Mir has a big gig tomorrow at Arlene's Grocery in New York City, to celebrate the gig we asked her to tell us about her song "Summertime," which is on her forthcoming self-titled debut. We now turn it over to her for the story:

Summertime is all about memories, endless summer and love. The song is about the best time of the year.It is about happiness and sadness. It is hard to say goodbye to your summer love, but it will always be another summer and you can always reach back to your memories. Summer used to be the most fun time of the year when I was living in Ukraine. I used to spent it on the Black Sea enjoying the sun, water and having biggest crushes and "loves of my life". The song is inspired by memories of summer and the longing to keep summer going forever. It is a time when you can throw your worries to the wind, forget your problems, and think about only love and music.

Now that you know the story behind the song, preview tracks from the forthcoming album, learn more about Lana Mir and grab the details for tomorrow night's show and more - right here!

Tony Joe White is offering fans a free download for "Season Man," the first track from his new album.

A whispery tale recounting an ominous dream, the song opens White's 'The Shine' (Sept 28, Swamp Records), a stripped-down collection that beautifully lays bare his rich, nuanced baritone, and distinctive brand of swampy southern soul. Grab it here

In case you missed it, one of White's classics "Polk Salad Annie" saw a resurgence this spring as Conan O'Brien performed a version of it throughout his live tour, inserting his own comedic lyrics of course. You can see some audience video of Conan singing it

Jennie Arnau Releases New Video
Jennie Arnau has released a new video for her song "Bouncing Ball," off her latest album, Chasing Giants.

The video was directed by Daniel Sears and Jason Jude Hill at GrumpyFILMS. The lyrics of "Bouncing Ball" tell of one person yearning for the most basic of connections from another person.

In the story of the video, Fred Eggplant tries all of these drastic measures to get Dolores' attention. It's only when the birds force him into doing something basic - simply stand in front of her with a bouquet of flowers - that the connection is made and the sun comes out. GrumpyFILMS beautifully mirrored Jennie's earnestness and the wonderful simplicity of the song in the video. Check it out
