Bret Michaels says he has nothin' to apologize for about "Nothin' to Lose," his new song featuring Miley Cyrus. The song caused a bit of controversy with the teen pop queen singing about "slowly get undressed." Now the 46 year-old Poison "rocker" defends the lyric in an interview with US Magazine: "the part where it says she slowly gets undressed, Miley says, 'Yeah she does.' It has no reference to her and I. It's not even a duet... As God is my witness, there is nothing I have to be defensive about," he says. "I'm a good Dad. I just thought it was a beautiful song. "

Gorillaz Preview New Album and Premiere New Video this Week
"Stylo," the first video from the hotly anticipated third Gorillaz album Plastic Beach, will premiere globally on YouTube on March 2, 2010. The video premiere will follow the March 1 launch of a streaming full album preview as part of NPR Music's Exclusive First Listen series at www.npr.org/music.

Directed by Jamie Hewlett and produced by Cara Speller for Zombie Flesh Eaters, with live action by HSI Productions in Los Angeles, and animation by Passion Pictures in London, "Stylo" follows Gorillaz bass demigod Murdoc Niccals through a dangerous trip to the mainland from his new home on the Plastic Beach, namesake of the new record. Something goes badly wrong and Murdoc, guitarist/Cyborg Noodle—who has replaced her (its?) flesh and blood counterpart since the original's apparent demise in the previous Demon Days' final video "El Manana"—and vocalist 2D end up in a high speed car chase with a local cop and an unknown assailant. Cyborg Noodle's circuits start failing and 2D fears for their lives as the gun toting bounty hunter draws ever closer....

Murdoc recalls of the video shoot (no pun intended), "Someone was chasing me through the desert! Luckily I had my camera crew following me and they captured it all on film, so I've cut it up and stuck it back together for my 'Stylo' video! That'll learn me not to leave the safe, toxic, isolated haven of Plastic Beach..."

Alfonzo Blackwell To Tribute John Coltrane & Michael Jackson on Forthcoming Album
Saxman/Songwriter/Producer, Alfonzo Blackwell is busy, busy, busy working hard in the studio on his 8th CD project on Utopia Records. His current release "Dance To This" brought listeners to the dance floor and his approach for his next project is to bring listeners the sophistication, style, class and fire that comes from the freedom that has embodied his music for 15 years now.

The multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire reclines in his black leather console chair in his state-of-the-art digital recording studio and takes a brief moment to reflect on his studio recording process. Alfonzo says, "I'm working day in and day out to capture all parts of me, all parts of my essence and all parts of my soul. It's almost like a 24/7 music reality show…me in the studio. I'm living in my studio now." So far, Alfonzo has already recorded an astounding thirty-one tracks and has no intensions on slowing down or putting a cap on that total. The consummate musician goes on to say, "I'm looking to write, produce and record at least one hundred tracks for this album to select from. This is the first concept album for me and it's a portrait of me as an artist, entertainer and musician. It's important for me to put forth the best original work of my career and each track must be right." Most noteworthy is Alfonzo's traditional standard rendition of the late great John Coltrane's "Impressions", which is very impressive! Another very noteworthy and highly anticipated track is Alfonzo's tribute to the late great and inarguably, the best entertainer in the history of mankind, The King of Pop Michael Jackson.

The impressive "Impressions" is a very progressive take on the John Coltrane classic jazz standard. Mr. Blackwell plays the all the live instruments on this piece and in addition to that, he also arranged, produced, engineered and mixed the groundbreaking track as well. It takes soul and masterful improvisation to pull this off with a bundle of God given gifts of talent. "When you give your complete heart and soul to your music, the rest is already written. It's a spiritual thing so I let the music drive my ambition, at that point." Alfonzo states in response to the acknowledged complexity of taking on this musical odyssey. "Coltrane's spiritual and musical tour de force will always live inside of me and inspire future generations to come. His legacy will remain strong and vital. His raw genius is truly one of a kind. Coltrane is JAZZ."

Incognito Live Releases Set
Inakustik and MVD Visual are proud to announce the DVD, Blu-ray, and CD release of Incognito "Live In London - The 30th Anniversary Concert" on April 20, 2010.

Incognito is far more than just a band. The sound visionary Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick has been pioneering in the mercurial acid jazz scene, and as a talent factory, Incognito has rolled out the red carpet for vocal prodigies, such as Jocelyn Brown and the best musicians from the British groove community.

Short-lived musical trends have done nothing to damage the popularity of this multi-cultural band with their driving rhythms and elegant melodies and they have become a trademark all over the world, especially live. In this vein, "Bluey" Maunick celebrated Incognito's 30th birthday on stage at the London INDIGO2 with a thrilling concert in summer 2009. - more on this story

Dustin O'Halloran and Hauschka Team Up For Tour
Los Angeles-born, Berlin-based composer Dustin O'Halloran will join the ever-inventive Dόsseldorf pianist Hauschka for a co-headline run in March.

Over the course of a couple weeks, the two unique talents will perform at a variety of unconventional venues including the Central Presbyterian Church in Austin during SXSW, and the famed Hollywood Forever cemetery at the Masonic Lodge in Los Angeles.

It could be argued that O'Halloran epitomizes the new generation of classically-inspired musician/composers of recent years. Favoring heart-wrenching melodies and floating structures over atonal experimentation and avant-garde deconstruction, O'Halloran's music exists to expose the vulnerability of your heartstrings and pulls with a gentle force that many contemporary composers have long forgotten.
